Chemical Burn

A projection set for a producer, in his own colours and timed to his song.

His name already sounds like a warning label, so we made it one. Hazard stripes, a corrosive diamond with CB in the middle, and CHEMICAL BURN in block letters that flash on the beat.

The colours come from his TikTok profile:

  • Cyan #1EB4F0
  • Violet #A050FF
  • Lime #7CFF3A
  • Dusty pink #E8A0C0
  • Icy lavender #D8D8FF
Nine frames of the Chemical Burn projection set at different beats of his song: the hazard label with his name on top, acid blobs, diamond grids and stripes below
Moments from one run through the song: the power-up, his name flickering in, the downbeat flash, the snare and the build.

His colours

We went through his TikTok and took the five colours from his profile.

2

The pitch

We pitched a few ideas. The hazard label won.

3

Built to the song

The set listens to the track as it plays. Kicks and snares hit the frame, and the scene changes at every drop and breakdown. 20 scenes over the whole song.

4

Keys for live

9 scenes sit on the keyboard so he can take over live. One output carries his name, the other carries the visuals.

Contact sheet of every scene in the Chemical Burn set: name scenes such as caution tape, VHS and cutout strobe, and visual scenes such as tunnel, cracks and spectrum
